For the second year, CIIS’ Center for Black & Indigenous Praxis joined Generations, a celebration of Black LGBTQIA+ cultures in the Bay Area.
At the Center for Black & Indigenous Praxis, our motivation is not a response to racism, but a vision of transformation that explores the dynamic synergy between scholarship, ancestral wisdom and engaged activism.
We embrace the profound power of relationships and reciprocity, recognizing that our communities are reservoirs of knowledge enriched by oral traditions, art, and non-Western healing, as well as paradigms that view the world as ensouled. Through these sacred bonds, we co-create a sustainable world that honors the wisdom of our ancestors, where Black and Indigenous paradigms are cherished, and socio-ecological harmony flourishes.
It is our honor to foster a more inclusive and equitable intellectual landscape, where diverse perspectives flourish. Through this harmonious convergence, we envision a future where the fusion of academic rigor and ancestral wisdom leads to meaningful societal transformations that honor the heritage and resilience of our communities.
