Nick Bustos is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, emphasis in Integral Psychology. He earned his M.A. in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco and Ph.D. from the California Institute for Human Science. In addition to his positions in higher education, Nick provides program development and psychotherapy services in K-12 special education programs, and maintains a private psychotherapy practice where he works with individuals, couples, and families utilizing a psychodynamic, transpersonal, and somatic/energetic approach. Nick's publication history includes scholarly journals related to psychotherapy practice and consciousness studies. He regularly conducts trainings, workshops, and presentations on a variety of clinical topics, both regionally and nationally. His academic and clinical passion lies in the healing journey of the therapist, incorporating the insight and experiential foundations of nondual philosophy and contemplative traditions along with a critical, developmental approach to the person — in the family, in society, and in the universe. Nick has an extensive background in meditative and contemplative spiritual practices, with additional training in healing and energy medicine.

Anna Benassi, M.A., LMFT, (they/them) is a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice that spans the San Francisco Bay Area. They have worked in hospital and clinic settings for over thirty years. As a queer activist, Anna has worked clinically with homeless individuals suffering from AIDS/HIV and in crisis settings; they currently work with individuals, couples, and nonconforming queer and polyamorous families. Anna did their practicum and associate studies at the Integral Counseling Center at Church St. They were mentored in Gestalt therapy by Lu Grey and Gieve Patel and studied Gestalt therapy at the Instituto di Gestalt in Italy. They are a founding member of the Bay Area Gestalt Institute, where they were acting director for many years, and are a current board member. Anna has over twenty years of experience facilitating and leading groups of all kinds — from police officers to clinical associates and licensed clinicians — and has supervised individuals obtaining their LMFT licenses in individual and group settings. They have also held many management and supervisory positions throughout their working career.
