Additional Information
The StarVista Training Program offers professional training and supervised experience across a wide array of mental health and social service programs in San Mateo County - about 10 of our almost 30 programs take trainees. Each trainee has the opportunity to build cultural, ethical, and clinical competence in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and their families within a multicultural and multidisciplinary, community mental health setting.
Internships with the StarVista Training Program require a 20 hour/week minimum commitment for 10-12 months. Weekly in-service didactic training seminars are required throughout the training year. Each trainee receives one hour of weekly individual supervision and two hours of weekly group supervision provided by a licensed clinical supervisor. psychologists (doctorate in clinical, counseling, or educational psychology), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT), and licensed clinical social workers (LCSW).
