Have questions about navigating these challenging times? According to Humanistic Astrologer, psychic medium, and author Jessica Lanyadoo, we can look to the stars and planetary alignments of the moment for clarity. On March 13, she returns to CIIS Public Programs for a conversation with School of Undergraduate Studies Associate Professor Sonya Shah that will focus on individual and mutual support and healing using the guidance of the cosmos and the power of community.  

In practice as an astrologer, tarot reader, and medium since 1994, Jessica has become renowned in online astrology circles for her weekly horoscopes, engaging social media, and as the host of the top-ranked astrology and advice podcast, Ghost of a Podcast. The twice-weekly show covers celestial happenings and advice in an approachable, direct style with plenty of “woo” and equal doses of humor, politics, and pragmatism.

In addition to teaching at CIIS, Sonya Shah is the Co-Executive Director of the Ahimsa Collective, an organization she initiated that focuses on restorative and transformative justice, land-based healing, and support for the formerly incarcerated. Ahimsa, from the Sanskrit word for an ancient principle of non-violence and compassion, seeks to replace carceral, punitive, and oppressive frameworks with systems of care grounded in healing and community.
