Exploring Internal Family Systems and the Buddhist Path of Awakening
A Workshop With Ralph De La Rosa
One-Day Online Workshop, Seven Hours
At the center of both Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Buddhism are methods for accessing the transformative power of compassion. Both are rooted in the experiential truth that we are not who we think we are—we are more alive, complex, and full of possibility than we assume. Perhaps most meaningful to our lives now, is their common approach—engaging with traumas, afflictions, and irrational beliefs for post-traumatic growth, reclamation of vitality, and personal and collective liberation—the realization of, “the only way out is through (Frost).”
Join psychotherapist and meditation teacher Ralph De La Rosa for an experiential workshop centered on integrated experiences for opening the heart of self-compassion; how this “Self-energy” (IFS) or “buddha nature” can show up in our daily lives; and how it can be applied towards healing, insight, and empowerment. Expect a day of parts work—a therapeutic approach that helps people identify and resolve conflicts between different parts of themselves—meditation, lively group discussion, personal introspection, and new awarenesses and tools.
Ralph invites you to explore self-compassion and find healing by understanding the multiplicity of who we are.

Ralph De La Rosa (they/he) is the author of three books, including the new Outshining Trauma: A New Vision of Radical Compassion. He is a psychotherapist in private practice and a longtime meditation teacher known for his radically honest and humorous approach. He is personally mentored by Richard Schwartz, founder of the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy. His work has been featured by GQ, CNN, NY Post, Wanderlust, Tricycle, Mindful Magazine, and beyond.
Ralph is a survivor of PTSD and heroin addiction. Walking through these matters with the help of profound therapists and mentors has been an empowerment no school could have offered. It is simply part of his path to offer back what he’s been shown.
Ralph is also a musician currently singing their heart out in Seattle, WA.
