Our Approach

At Church Street Integral Counseling Center, we take a holistic, multicultural, and mindful approach to therapy. We believe that each person is the expert in their own experience. Our therapists are here to support you in creating the change you want in your life.

Our center offers low-fee counseling in many languages* for adults, couples, families, seniors, adolescents, and children from across the San Francisco Bay Area. Our sliding-fee scale is structured to accommodate people of all income levels and life situations.

Leading Therapy for Mind, Body, and Spirit

The caring, professional therapists at Church Street Integral Counseling Center take an integral approach to healing that connects the mind, body, and spirit, and honors the uniqueness of each person.

We are the country's only university-affiliated Gestalt/existential therapy center. Our therapists are trained to focus on themes of difference and inclusion, offer a social justice perspective, and stress the importance of choice and awareness. We are open for in-person as well as virtual sessions!

Church Street Integral Counseling Center is a vital member of San Francisco's mental health ecosystem, both for its neighborhood-based longevity (the Center has provided services in Noe Valley for more than 40 years) and as a citywide hub. Our therapists provide referrals to other low-fee clinics that may be more specialized to a client's needs, including but not limited to, other CIIS counseling centers.

We serve people of all ages, economic and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and spiritual traditions, as well as atheists, agnostics, and those who do not consider themselves part of any spiritual or religious group

Appointments & Hours

Church Street Integral Counseling Center offers appointments on the following days and times:

Monday through Friday: 9am–9pm

Weekends: 9am–5pm

Format: in-person and online

Appointments are available for a low-cost, sliding-scale fee based on the client's income and life circumstances.

Our Team

Church Street Integral Counseling Center staff members are advanced graduate students enrolled in the accredited Integral Counseling Psychology program at CIIS. Each counselor is selected on the basis of sensitivity, competence, and commitment to service. Every trainee therapist is closely supervised by licensed psychotherapists. The Center adheres to the licensing laws of the state of California and implements the ethical practices of relevant professional organizations.

We take great care in making sure that each client is matched with the most suitable therapist based on needs, experiences, availability and clinical focus.
