Undergraduate Program
The School of Undergraduate Studies offers a degree in interdisciplinary study through the Bachelor of Arts Completion (BAC) Program. The program serves returning learners who have completed the equivalent of the first two years of college. Our program attracts students from diverse backgrounds; we have students who are firefighters, single mothers, health care workers, massage therapists, government workers, pre-school teachers, just to name a few. As you can see, students who enter our program bring with them rich life experiences and these experiences often represent different perspectives, expertise and worldviews.
Jumpstart Your Graduation
Colleges and universities through California are slashing their undergraduate course offerings and raising their tuition rates, and even cancelling summer classes. This creates anxiety for students because they cannot plan how long it will take to earn their degree, and how much it will cost. We can give students firm answers to those questions. Since 2000, the BAC program has graduated 70% of its students within one year of enrollment, one of the highest success rates for colleges in California.
Guaranteed Access and Fixed Tuition Rates
The Bachelor of Arts Completion Program guarantees that students enrolled full-time (12 to 18 units) will have access to all of the courses required to graduate and a fixed tuition rate for the duration of your full-time enrollment, up to four semesters. At other universities, it may take several years to complete your degree due to budget cuts, but most students in our program complete their degree within three to four semesters.
The following conditions apply to this guarantee:
- The fixed tuition rate applies only up through the fourth semester. Should the student register for a fifth semester, the prevailing tuition rate will apply from that point on.
- The fixed tuition rate is rescinded if a student does not follow all other CIIS policies and deadlines.
- College credits earned from previous life or work experiences and awarded through the CIIS Prior Learning Seminar are not included in this offer. They will be charged a per-unit tuition rate.
- This offer becomes void if the student fails to register in consecutive semesters. Studens taking a leave of absence will be charged the prevailing tuition rate in the semester they return and in all subsequent semesters.
